Capacity Building Experience

 2022: Successfully conducted a training on intersection of Gender and ICT: Gender aspects in ICT Tool Development and Deployment to the End-to-end AI and data systems for targeted surveillance and management of COVID-19 and future pandemics affecting Uganda project team held on 2nd June 2022 in the College of Computing and Information Sciences (CoCIS) Boardroom, Makerere University Kampala, Uganda

 May 2022: Successfully supported the delivery of a training for IDE Implementing Partners and Staff in Mainstreaming gender held from 24th to 26th May 2022 at K-Hotels plot 32 Hill Road Entebbe, Uganda.

April 2022: Successfully conducted a training on Enhancing Institutional Capacity for Mainstreaming Gender in Agricultural Research and Technology Development for the National Agricultural Research Organization (Uganda) staff, (28th April 2022), Funded by USAID through the National Agricultural Research organization (Uganda).

May 2022: Successfully conducted a training on identifying gender issues in agricultural value chains highlighting local examples; Gender analysis and planning for research interventions (planning cycle); Frameworks and tools for integrating/reporting gender in agricultural research; Gender responsive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E): An overview

Nov. 2021: Successfully coordinated and conducted a Capacity building workshop in gender responsive research and Technology development for the National Agricultural Research Laboratory (NARL) Feed the Future (FtF) project implementing partners (22-23 November, 2021), Funded by USAID through the National Agricultural Research organization (Uganda).

2021: Successfully conducted the delivery of capacity building in gender responsive research and Technology development for the National Agricultural Research Laboratory (NARL) Feed the Future (FtF) project implementing partners workshop held on 22-23 November, 2021, at Ridar Hotel, Seeta, Uganda.

2021:   Successfully supported the delivery of the PASGR- Tangaza University College Pedal Online course as Resource Person where I collaboratively worked with other ResourcePersons to ensure that the course was delivered according to the established standards

2016-2021: Successfully participated in designing and delivering about 10 courses between 2016-2021 focused on Gender responsive plant breeding, under the Gender Responsive Researchers Equipped for Agricultural Transformation (GREAT), an international gender and agriculture capacity programme managed by Cornell and Makerere Universities, funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (see the list below)

a) Gender Responsive Researchers Equipped for Agricultural Transformation (GREAT) & the Innovation Lab for Crop Improvement (ILCI) Gender and agricultural research Webinar series delivered to scientists working in the various Centres of Innovation in Haiti, CostaRica, Uganda, Malawi and Senegal.  2019   Successfully participated in the curriculum development and delivery of gender training for the team members of NutriFish Project implemented by the Department of Zoology, Entomology and Fisheries, Makerere University College of Natural Sciences, Kampala, Uganda (4TH 7TH Nov., 2019, Kampala, Uganda), (Funded by IDRC/ACIAR, CULTIAF2).

Training manuals developed

2022: Developing a Uganda National Teachers Union (UNATU) Gender Policy, Sexual Harassment and School Related Gender Based Violence Policies (Three in One).

2020:   Development of a Social and Behavior Change Communication (SBCC) Strategy for Improved Access to and Use of Underutilized Fishes and Fish-Based Product, under the NUTRIFISH project funded by IDRC.

2016: Led a team of Secondary School BRAC teacher mentors to write a teacher mentors’ training manual under BRAC/Mastercard Foundation Scholarship programme in Uganda.
